Another day, another Jørgen Strand Larsen rumour. The latest speculation concerning the Wolves striker has Tottenham tussling with Newcastle for his services. With Mohammed Kudus sidelined by injury, Thomas Frank needs attacking reinforcements for his ailing side and Strand Larsen could fit the bill. Newcastle’s interest remains solid though, and they had scouts at Molineux last weekend, the Newcastle Chronicle reports.
Chelsea being Chelsea, Liam Rosenior’s arrival at Stamford Bridge has excited the gossip peddlers, and there’s talk in Spain of a cheeky move for Trent Alexander-Arnold. The Spanish outlet Fichajes claims: “Sources close to the club suggest that Chelsea could be preparing a multimillion pound offer to try to convince Real Madrid, assuming the deal must be a permanent transfer.” Though a move for the former Liverpool full-back wouldn’t particularly fit Chelsea’s transfer MO.
The latest shenanigans at Old Trafford may complicate Roma’s bid for Joshua Zirkzee. The Dutch forward had been firmly on the Serie A club’s radar but, with Manchester United now in managerial limbo following Ruben Amorim’s exit, Zirkzee might be tempted to hang around to see if he likes the cut of the next head coach/manager’s jib. Roma may prioritise landing Atlético Madrid’s Giacomo Raspadori instead; Football Italia reports the director Ricky Massara saying “negotiations are in progress” over a deal for the forward.
Meanwhile Marcus Rashford, motoring along on loan at Barcelona, is rumoured to be on Paris Saint-Germain’s radar. Football Insider reports that PSG are “monitoring Rashford’s situation” and might try to land the forward if Barça’s plans to make Rashford’s move permanent stall. And of course a new man in the United dugout might fancy bringing him back.
Over at Liverpool, Federico Chiesa’s future at Anfield hinges partly on whether Mohamed Salah stays. Chiesa is attracting interest from Juventus and Napoli but the winger is unlikely to be offloaded if Salah leaves.
Milan have Bayern Munich’s Kim Min-Jae in their sights, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, but would need Bayern to contribute to the South Korea international’s salary to grease the wheels of any deal, so it feels like a long shot.
In the Championship, Middlesbrough are reported to be keen on pepping up a promotion challenge that has wobbled slightly of late with a move for Jeremy Sarmiento. The Brighton winger has struggled for game time during his loan spell at Cremonese and is likely to be recalled, with Boro understood to have made contact with the Seagulls about either a loan or permanent move. Meanwhile the Championship leaders, Coventry, are poised to secure a loan deal for the 19-year-old Spurs and South Korea forward Yang Min-hyeok.
Up in Glasgow, current Old Firm crisis club Celtic, having reached an agreement to sign the Ivorian winger Jocelin Ta Bi for £2m from the Israeli club Maccabi Netanya, are also planning a move for the Uruguay international Ignacio Laquintana. The 26-year-old attacking midfielder is currently at RB Bragantino in Brazil.
