24 Hours in Police Custody: The Secret Network

9pm, Channel 4
In 2020, authorities cracked the EncroChat phone network used globally by criminals. This hit fly-on-the-wall true-crime series gets exclusive access into Bedfordshire police’s covert investigation – starting at a house in Luton, where a hooded figure pulls a shotgun from their rucksack and fires it. The team hack the messages sent in advance of the shooting, which leads to a hunt for the people involved. Hollie Richardson

Rick Stein’s Australia

7pm, BBC Two
The chef heads north from Sydney to the Central Coast and sets off on a bush walk, stopping to create a traditional “chop picnic” with roasted kangaroo and bacon. He then crosses the Hawkesbury River, where deer are considered pests but are still enjoyed as venison. HR

9pm, BBC One
After 12 weeks of training, Nicky Walters (Kym Marsh) has her hands full as the new behavioural manager – especially when the police catch year 10 dealing drugs. And with the arrival of a sniffer dog, Darius (Jon Richardson) has an idea that is about to cause chaos. Tonight’s pull-out quote: “I heard they got caught snogging in a cupboard, and apparently there was a baguette involved.” Ali Catterall

The Good Ship Murder

9pm, Channel 5
In another case for the singing – and indeed floating – detective, sleuth/crooner Jack (Shayne Ward) teams up with cruise ship first officer Kate (Catherine Tyldesley) to solve a murder on the high seas. When a dodgy wellness guru’s seminar ends in premature death, a disgruntled patient becomes the chief suspect. Jack Seale

Dark Winds

9pm, U&Alibi
In its most Lynchian episode yet, Dark Winds sets aside the Chee and Bernadette storyline and takes a detour to the dreamscape of the Yellow World. Or at least Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) does, after he is shot with a tranquilliser dart. There, he grapples with aspects of Native American mythology, including the Ye’iitsoh monster. Ellen E Jones

Live at the Apollo

Boomers, millennials and gen Zers beware: Desiree Burch is a gen Xer with some zinging takedowns for you. She is a rousing host for the evening, introducing comedians Suzi Ruffell – making a case for only having one kid – and the 26-year-old “future of comedy”, Finlay Christie. HR
